I got him when he was about 6 weeks and he's been the sweetest thing ever(now he's almost 3 or 4 months old). He started biting me and my boyfriend after couple days I got him. At that time, it didn't hurt at all and it was just sooo cute.

As time went by, he got bigger and stronger and it hurts really bad whenever he bites me. (He doesn't bite anybody else, anymore.) He just bites me only. I know he wants to play and stuff, but it hurts. My vet said spray the water at him. Well.. I tried, but it didn't work. By the way, he loves water. hmm... Can anyone help? I have bite marks all over my arms and legs.

I've had to deal with that. What you have to do is thump his head or his nose: That's how a momma cat tells her kittens to 'Be good'. I would say your little one is teething right about now, so you might want to get some small doggie chew toys for him.

Good luck!

My 3-month old kitty is doing the same thing. The water didn't work for me, clapping or other loud noises did not work either. Time-outs (which seems silly for an animal anyway) didn't stop her. I'm still struggling with this, but found that the most effective thing to do is put her down when she starts biting, tell her no and walk out of the room. Completely out of the room. When you remove yourself from the area, the kitten sees that you aren't going to put up with it.

Now, to be honest, it works for all of about 5 minutes. BUT, it works. And gradually, she's getting better. This is just a normal part of growing up...they're just babies after all...and teething babies at that. Good luck!

Yikes, biting is a bad habit to get started when they are kittens, I know its cute, but it should have been put to a stop when he was a kitten. Now that he's older, its going to be tough. Every time he bites you, flick him in the nose and say a firm NO. Give him a treat whenever he's NOT biting you, and telling him he's being good. See, he's getting your attention by biting you, you can also turn and completely ignore him when he bites you. If he comes up for a snuggle after that, ignore him for a moment, then if he does not bite again, give him a treat. Its all about habit. Good luck!!

oh man those teeth are like razors when they're kittens!! Try playing with cat toys with them...not your hands...like one of those feather duster things or a stick with fabric around it...kittens need their attention diverted when they start to act up...whenever my carrera gets nippy i tell her to be nice and then she'll stop biting and lick me, but if she's in one of her moods and keeps biting and raking me with her back legs i let her be...i don't play with her at all....if the problem continues to happen try putting tobasco sauce, bitter apple (from pet stores) or anything sour on your hands so once she does bite...yuck!! try some toys it might help....just don't use your hands as the toy....that was my first problem!!

when using the spray bottle, make sure its a stream not a fine mist....they don't like the water when it comes to them!!

good luck!!! any q? let me know :)

Put a little taste of something bitter on your fingers, or something that has a strong odor, maybe that will help. I do believe they sell some thing at the pet shop, Bitter Apple, I think it"s called for that. It may not work right away, you may have to do it a couple of times. I saw it on a t.v. show.

first you should try playing with him more often because even my cat bites just because he/she thinks your playing with it. If that doesn't work then try to get toys for the cat and maybe the cat will stop biting you and start bitting his/her toys.

P.S you don't even have to buy any toys if you happen to have any yarn or string almost all cats love to play with that!

Hope My suggestion works for you good luck

Sorry, but this one is your fault. When you encouraged his "cute" little biting, he believes it's acceptable behavior.
You'll have to teach him to stop. I wouldn't keep spraying water on him, but putting some coins in a can and shaking the can makes enough noise to distract him from whatever he's doing.

Hi you can also buy Bitter Apple and put it on your hands. He'll learn how terrible you taste and stop biting. Just don't forget and bite your nails or anything, that stuff is nasty tasting.

Aaawww! I have a girlfriend who's one cat does this. He's just playfull and loves y'all. It could also be that he's teething. Try a toy like a catnip sash. He'll chew on that and that should help.
