I always travel on vacation (summer vacation, spring break, etc) with my family, so what could I do with the cat while I'm away!!!, I can't leave him home all alone, and I don't think there are pet kennels nearby where I could leave him while I'm gone, and I believe keeping him in a cage and loading him on a plane for quite some time is cruel and he may end up hating me for it!!!.
Do any of you have this problem?, what should I do???
ALL answers welcome!!!
P.S: I have a friend who travels more than I do and she leaves her cat at home, the only difference is she has a maid to take care of him, and feed him, etc.

Well I know some Vets have housing for cats and take care of them at the vet office. You can try looking that up. Also do you have friends who could watch the cat? Or family that doesnt travel with you? You can also look up pet sitters. I normally leave my cat at home alone when i leave for a short break (3 to 5 days) I just leave out two bowls of water and food and he is all set :) neighbors also work well.

I always have a neighborhood teen or a friend come by twice a day to visit the cats, clean the box and feed them. I don't know about yours, but my cats are very sociable, and need to know that they have not been forgotten.
If there is no one for you to ask, then I would suggest hiring a proffessional petsitter. Pet Sitters International is a company that certifies petsitters. You can visit their website and find someone in your area.
I would not reccomend boarding a cat anywhere. Cats do not feel comfortable outside of their territory. It is very hard on them to be in a cage for days. I used to work at a vet's office and the cats never came out of the cage. They just scrunched up and tried to look small and inoffensive or else they meowed and meowed. I felt so bad for them.

The nice thing about cats is that they have absolutely no concept of time and they are very self sufficient. If you can find a friend that can stop by and make sure they have food and water, they will be just fine for a week or two. People tend to give cats more human qualities than they should - perfectly understandable - but in reality, your cats don't need people as much as people need their cats.

i'm out of time all the time and I have 3 now 4 cats. I have food and water dispencers. 2 each. and a cat box for each cat. After 4-5 days of being away I call a close girlfriend, who lives 40 min. away, and she comes over to clean their boxes out and play with them for while. my cats are content without us there. don't get me wrong, we're home much more than not. But when we are gone I much rather keep them home then bording them.
so you can do this too. As long as you have someone you can trust to come into your home and take care of them, you and your cat will be fine. Just pay them a little something for gas or whatever and I'm sure they will do it for you.

Get a pet sitter to come in twice a day to feed and spend a little bit of time with him. Should cost about $15 to $20 a day. Or get a friend or neighbor to do it - maybe for a little less -or agree to return the favor for their pets when they travel.

You could hire a "pet sitter" to come and provide periods of quality time with your cat. Cats are very self sufficient and often don't need more than food, a litter box change, and limited doses of affection. Someone that can come by for 3 to 4 hours per week should be sufficient and should not cost you too much. Your vet can most likely refer you to someone. Other than that, you may want to consider putting the cat up for adoption to someone that has more time for an animal.

Ask your friend if her maid will be willing to take care of your cat and that you'll pay her all the money as soon as you come back. Or ask around your neighborhood if they'll take care of your cat until your back. Or a pet sitter.

Check your phone book for pet boarding services, or get a pet sitter.
Or you could just cut back on your travel plans- which might not be a bad idea, considering the price of gas.

Well, do you have a friend who could care for him while you are gone? I do this with my cat, and he loves being away from home with other people.

I just went on vacation, and our cat could live on her own in our house if we left food and water out, but we just didn't feel comfortable doing that. So I asked my trustworthy friend to come over while I'm gone. It worked out perfectly, he likes cats and had fun. I suggest you ask a friend to watch over your cat.
