is it typical when a tooth gets pulled and there are no stitches for the clotting to take longer? i got an upper tooth pulled and the clot took forever, it almost looked like it kept dislodging. it bled for a good portion of yestarday and last night. it stopped as of this morning but im kinda scared that i may get a dry socket if it bleeds again or that i may have one now

I've had a few teeth pulled without stitches. It took forever for it to clot correctly. It looked terrible for a week or so. There was this weird grainy looking tissue forming that looked really gross but it was all part of the healing process. Just don't poke anything in there, don't use straws, smoke, etc.. Mine bled for days as well. Don't worry about a dry socket unless you feel extreme pain in the area. You should be ok since nothing you said sounds abnormal to me.

I've had plenty of teeth pulled. the thing to avoid is acidic drinks or fruits. Like oranges and lemons. it will take longer to heal if you have anything of the sort. also avoid touching the opening with your tongue(ie. rubbing). gently rinse if food gets in it as well. It should be fine as long as you take good care of it. hope this helps.
