Gen. 7 6 Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth. 7 And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.
Do not worry the wives were also included. In Bible study it is important to take in the whole story. Continue your good study.
Yours in Christ,
Miss Mona

This is only one of many reasons why one should not aspire to be a Christian. Want to see a few more?

I know you probably think becoming a Christian might make your life more fulfilling. Seeking something like that is not wrong. But don't make the mistake of joining something that has been proven false. Seek the truth, not a cult.
(By the way, I suppose I should mention, not only is the story of Noah's ark completely impossible, but it is actually a pagan myth that was later added to the bible. It is covered quite well in The Epic Of Gilgamesh, available at any bookstore, and one of the oldest written documents ever discovered)
I do hope you understand though, that the origin isn't important. The story is a myth, regardless. How do you figure Noah gathered up 2 polar bears, and brought them down to Iraq? This is just the tip of the iceberg, but you get the point...

You got to Genesis 9:1 but failed to read properly Genesis 7:7
"And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and HIS SONS' WIVES with him, into the ark, because of the water of the flood" - Genesis 7:7

Another verse indicates the sons brought their wives. But of course, the whole story is a myth, based on myths about a giant flood from many years before it was written in the bible. Some scholars think it may have resulted from when the Black Sea was flooded, probably due to an earthquake opening up the Bosphorus.

Genesis 7:13 "On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark."
Oops... Better keep up that thorough Bible reading, dude...

If you don't believe in genesis, then you must believe in evolution? As such you must understand there were no more peoples in our beginnings to widen the gene pool than are named in the bible. Small, VERY small family bands wandering miles per day for years. The bible's various authors didn't "invent" incest, they merely recorded it.

I read the verse as saying that Noah and his sons (and their wives that they brought on the ark with them) must reproduce the world. Women were there just not mentioned very often.

They each had a wife with them.
But really, that narrow a gene pool? That's begging for disaster. What happens even these days when a population is that small.
It's called extinction.
Nope, never happened. Just a fairy tale.

Everything in the bible makes complete sense if you would just not waste time trying to analyze it but just accept it on faith. That is how religion works.
