why do you say That I dont understand and that I have not looked into your reasons. I was svaed 10 years ago. when my fiancee died, I was very upset needless to say, my pastor told me he was in Hell. I have done nothing the last few years but study your beliefs and other religions. I wanted answeres, I wanted to know why God would send a good man to hell. and what is the best way to learn? its to live it. And I did, I even became a psychic for awhile, to learn and understand why they believe what they believe. I did a very good Job at it to. but you know what I have found out in all my study? That God Is real, he does excist, I still have questions, I still study, but there is no doubt that God is real and he loves every one of us. how many of you have really lived the life in the other people shoes to learn why they believe the way they do? or do you just read a book and choose your beliefs that way?

I do have an understanding yes I've been there. not all of "us" have been raised by parents that lived the life style of morals and it does seem that some Christians think its just a simple life and for some of us it is hard because of lifes punches.

I think the first thing to occur is a desire to know the truth. But the bible says we can't understand it without God's help. So we take a leap of faith, which is made possible in part by the logical reasoning that everything we see with our eyes came from someone or something greater than ourselves. Once we seek, God is faithful and reveals just enough to help us get over the hump but not so much as to overwhelm us. From there, our learning becomes progressive. The more we learn, the more faith we can muster, the more God reveals to us. I began my faith journey 16 years ago and back then I never could have imagined how strong my relationship with the Lord would become nor how much I've been blessed in the process.

I was raised christian. Become atheist and have over the last few years been agnostic. I would now say I'm... I don't know but very spiritual. So I've been in a few different shoes. All I can say is there is no proof against or for a god. There is tons of proof against the bible. Also I find allot of the christian beliefs to be hostile towards those who are different.
I'm glad you came to some understanding with in yourself. But don't forget it the christian ideal of god that would condemn your fiance to hell. Be a free thinker. Don't get bogged down by the senseless christian dogma.

I am an ex (in order) (Catholic, Atheist, Agnostic, Solitary Witch, Satanist, Thelemic Neophyte (Golden Dawn), Secular Humanist, Born Again Christian (without a relationship with GOD) Wiccan, Pagan, Metista Shaman, Taoist, and then an open minded seeker of actual truth. This is when I found Jesus personally and have been wonderfully whole and content for the last ten years.
It is not necessary to go through all this garbage to find truth but for me it was. I hope others will be spared the grief and just accept Christ.

Someone told you your fiance was in hell...? And that made you sadder than him having died? I'm sorry, but the last thing I would think of saying to someone who just lost a loved one was that that person was in hell. And how does one "become" psychic, exactly?
Look, I'm sure many of us could care less why you believe. Further, your studies into atheism must have been short - we're all different, except in that we don't believe in any god. There may be no doubt to you, but there is a great deal of doubt for us. Methinks you assume too much when you say that we just get our beliefs from books.

I have chosen not to believe in my disbelief's.
I have chosen by the process of elimination, to choose my path in life. I have observed first hand all the spiritual traditions, and have chosen the one that offers the greatest "Truths" for me. Let no man fall prey to the illusions of this place that we call the world. Illusions are as vast as the ocean!
Book knowledge is no doubt important, but when book knowledge has been exhausted, true spirituality is given a chance to take flight. The inner heart of man is allowed to open and experience the wonders of Gods creation.
May man allow the heart to open, and allow the fragrance of God to dwell therein.
"Peace be upon man"

Thank you for sharing your experience Cindy. I admire that you have done so much searching on your spiritual path regardlees of where it has taken you. I believe every experience is valid, YES EVERY! I can relate too to what your pastor said about your fiance. My dad commit suicide when I was 5. The priest told my grandparents to forget about him because he was going to hell. They did just that and both suffered greatly to their death for not dealing with their grief. I was the one to put his ashes to rest - when I was 23 years old!
Keep seeking God. I have no doubt that God is with you every moment. Try not to take what others say to heart. You know your experience is real and that is all that matters.

Not sure who you are aiming this question at.
But let me say this, if a pastor or any other religious nut was to be so incredibly insensitive, not too mention delusional and possibly certifiable, I would NEVER have anything to do with him or his sicko church again.
To say something like that is truly unforgivable in any religion or secular society.

I analytically examine and study everything I can get my hands on, religions, science, etc. I question the answers at length and either they make logical sense to me or they don't. The concept of an omnipotent creator being makes no logical sense to me, given the nature of the things I've studied before and can observe now.
