Wow! That guy gave you all the symptoms. You know when your getting an anxiety attack because your chest will start to palpate. You'll feel all hot and sweaty...sometimes dizzy. Its not a good feeling. You'll feel like you have this incredible urge to cry and that you can't stop crying. Then you'll have all these thoughts running through your head and you'll feel like you don't want to be where you are now. You'll want to be curled up on the ground all by yourself. I used to get them all the time. I take xanax on a regular basis. What helped me is that when I would get the anxiety attacks, I would write down everything I was thinking at that moment. I would keep a pad and a pen in my car and just write. It is very relaxing and it usually gets the thoughts out of your mind which probably caused the anxiety attack to begin with.

Anxiety attack symptoms include:

Breathlessness
'Racing' heart
Shaking
Dizziness
Stomach symptoms
Blurred vision
'Pins and needles' sensations in limbs
Difficulty swallowing
Chest pains
and many others.

These physical anxiety attack symptoms are usually accompanied by strange or depressing thoughts and feelings of despair.

Although anxiety attack symptoms seem threatening, because no 'real' threat is present, these symptoms occur inappropriately and therefore do not represent 'true fear'. Anxiety attacks are not the response to an actual threat but make the sufferer 'feel threatened'; because the sufferer interprets anxiety attack symptoms as the response to a real threat, credibility is given to the symptoms and more fear is created, this produces more symptoms and an anxiety cycle is created.

Some people experience a tightness in the chest and difficulty breathing. However you can experience that with a heart attack and an asthma attack too. If you can rule out those two, you may want to see a doctor about controlling the anxiety attacks such as breathing techniques.

I agree that it feels like you're in a dream and nothing seems real. You feel like you're somebody else outside your body seeing things through somebody elses eyes. I hate it when I have them. I always feel so depressed after it's passed, plus weak and mentally drained. I'm sorry if you are having these.
