Ouu, tough one! But, I think something along the lines of a phone call would work for what you're looking for. A txt message is usually either just plain boreing or extreme and desparate, which is what you are trying to avoid. The reason for this is that the reader cannot hear any emotion through words, so they tend to interpret the txt's in extremes (either dull or frantic, no middle ground). You should just call and talk about normal things (the weather, how her day went), that way you are in no way sounding desparate but at the same time your voice is being heard and therefore does not sound dull in her mind!

Dude,why do u hav to send a txt to you ex in the first place even if u try so hard to sound nice and hooked if won't jst happen she will know ya intensions

Ask questions. Everyone loves talking about themselves. Makes them feel important. Then try to go more indepth with what SHE is saying. Being truly interested in her will help her open up more to you.
