allow her to make the choice! she should be educated in both ways and allowed to explore her options and find her own faith and set of beliefs. let her build her own personal relationship with God.

I am Catholic so naturally I’m going to tell you to raise your child Catholic. However, I say this as unbiased as I can, based on fact and not personal opinion. I am a former Protestant who became Catholic after much research and time spent studying religion, the history of it, etc. If someone wants to experience the truth and the fullness of the Faith as Christ gave it to us, they could do no better than exploring the Catholic Church.
You should teach her the faith now, no different that anything else you’d teach her in life. The reason is because the Faith, like anything, prepares her for life. You wouldn’t wait till she’s grown to decide if she wants an education or not, would you? The Faith is no different. We make choices for our children all the time because we know what’s best for them; they aren’t old enough to make those choices or understand them to begin with. That’s why they have us.
Teach her the Faith. It’s the best thing you can do for her.

I do not understand the question, or maybe you do not understand what Christian or catholic is. Catholic IS a Christian. There are different ''kinds'' of Christians as well as catholics. Christians are Roman Catholic, Greece Catholic, Orthodox, Lutheran, Protestant, etc. Catholic can be Roman or Greece Catholic. So once again Catholics are Christians. Allow your daughter to grow up in love and understanding, religion doesn't matter as long as she is happy and healthy. Teach her to love and that she is free to chose what she wants to believe in.

The catholic church (if you are married) requires children to be raised catholic. But my own kids will make that determination in their own time. They've been to quite a variety of church and pagan services and so far they like the pagan belief system better but that doesn't mean its the one they'll choose when they're older.

Catholics ARE Christian.
Any Catholic parent is required by canon law to raise their children Catholic. That doesn't mean you can't also teach her about your own form of Christianity. Eventually, she will choose for herself, whether or not you want her to.
I suggest you get the book, "What Catholics REALLY Believe" so that you can learn how Catholics worship Christ, same as you, read the Bible, same as you, and strive to live like Jesus wants us to, same as you. Maybe after reading the book, you'll stop thinking about how different you and your partner is and start realizing how much you have in common when it comes to Christ.

I think it is normal for the mother to take a child with her to church but saying that my son is now agnostic having been forced due to his fathers catholic family to take Communion at 8. now he is 18 he is happy to talk about religion but does not believe in God. he says due to being confused between catholic and Anglican.

The confusion is about what you mean by "Christian."
Do you mean that you are a member of the denomination known as "The First Christian Church"?
If so, your question makes more sense.
The First Christian Church is a fundamenalist offshoot of the Church of Christ,
And the Roman Catholic Church (the real 'first Christian church') is the opposite of fundamentlism.
There is going to be quite a difference in your religious views, if you both or orthodox in your denominations.
That out of the way, I'd say let her decide for herself when she gets ready to.

Christians are people who believe in Jesus Christ. Catholics, therefore, are Christians.
Now, are you asking if you should raise your daughter as a Catholic, or a member of the "Church of What's Happening Now"?
In that case, let her make up her own mind when she old enough.

You allow your daughter to make her own choice, whatever that may be. Your job is to teach your child, not to brainwash her.
And I was under the impression that catholics were Christians anyway.
