Vegetative body ( of a plant , since this question is in botany section ! ) is that part of a body which does not participate in reproduction.
For example = Roots, Stem and leaves of a plant are the vegetative parts of that plant .
The flowers , on the other hand , are the reproductive parts as they participate in reproduction and set seeds .

They have no motor functions. They can't move, They might need tubes to breathe and They have a feeding tube. Their brain works but their body can't. It is like being paralyze from the top of your head to the bottom of your foot. You can't go to the bathroom or anything.
