I am 16 years old and I love guys and flirting with them and everything but it really ticks me off when older guys hit on me. By older I mean 18+. As in there have been 30+yr old men who have hit on me.

I think it's so rude and gross!
I don't mind the 18-20yr olds but why older? Why do they do this, I'm only 16! What should I do? Are a lot of guys like this?

*I tell them my age or tell them that I'm in high school but still some of them persist! I feel so embarrassed and ashamed when they do this!

*I don't dress sexy or act like a slut or try to look older. I think I just look older naturally and I'm tall for my age but other than that, I dress like I should. I don't present myself sexually, I would never do that. I don't like the behavior I recieve so I would never bring it on to myself. Also, when I say I flirt, I don't flirt with older men. If I did, I probably wouldn't have this question.

don't be ashamed or embarrassed it is they that should fell that way. It is wrong to hit on a 16 year old and try to get something from her. I am 28 and I must say I have seen some good looking 16 17 18 year old but I mean that is just wrong. I mean you would have nothing in common with them, they have no idea what they want, they still have a curfew and lets face it if I had a daughter that was 16 and I saw a 30+ year old hit on her I would shoot him! Just ignore then and walk away. And you should not flirt with any guy you would not want to date, why lead a guy on and get his hopes up that you might like him. That is mean.

Well, trust me, you won't have this problem long. I was a hot youngster, too, and now, 40-50-60 yo men walk past me without even glancing in my direction. I have to bring food to work to be greeted. Anyone who sees me calls me "Ma'am." I feel 19 on the inside! BUT!
It is because I am 57, and don't wear "hot girl" clothes, and I don't flirt-much.
Even the 60+ yo guys flirt with the 20 year olds here.
It is about ego, honey, not YOU. As long as any GUY can get any girl to smile or flirt or get embarrassed they think THEY STILL GOT "IT." It puffs up their iddy bitty egos, and get them "excited" that everything still works.
It is usually NOT a compliment to any woman who has any standards or even her own ego. It is about being used by a guy for HIS purposes.
You can do several different things. You can frown and say "eeeewwwwwww," which will make them think you are mean and childish and stuck-up. You can smile and flirt and get embarrassed and they will continue. You can smile shyly, and NOT say or do anything, but just look kindly at them like they are a disabled child, drooling into their laps-with compassion and gentleness, and it will DISABLE them with YOUR grown-up (almost "motherly") attitude. It is a "passion-killer!"
Or you can enjoy the attention, and appreciate that you are cute and desireable. You can know it is just Trolling" on the guy's part, and that you can have your pick of guys.
AIM high, and don't give your time and attention to just anyone. You do NOT have to SLEEP with people to get their attention. Figure out what you want for your life, and don't be swayed by your ego.
You have a very small window of opportunity to attract men out of your socio-economic group, who might do you a world of good. What I mean is, you are able as a hot 18-20 year old to get rich guys to notice you. Or some ancient 30 year old may want to send you to college, so he can be near you.
When you get to be 22 or have even the tiniest bit of mileage on you-like a (OMG) child or a bad attitude-you will be shot rudely back into dating guys in your own group-and having to live the life you maybe could have rejected.
Hope this helps!

You hate when guys hit on you, yet you love flirting with them? Sounds like you brought this on yourself. If you are only 16, then you aren't legal and the older men could get in a lot of trouble with you, so maybe let them know that somehow. Not sure how to handle it other than tone down the flirtatious behavior.

Maybe you look older than your age. Older guys that persist after you tell them your age are perverts. Be careful.

I don't think there is really anyway you can make them stop. To put it simply, if you have a nice shape, beautiful face, etc. then guys are going to look and try to talk to you.

Oh yeah, and I notice that in your profile you state that you are 17, yet here you say you are 16. Maybe you're TRYING to look older. Could you be to blame at all for the attention you get from older men? Just a thought.

IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT. You are doing nothing wrong, you're just being yourself, and 16, 17, 18, who cares, these older men don't behave properly towards you, and that has nothing to do with you.

I think you should just shrugg and walk away.

No explanation needed.

As a matter of fact, if you react, and answer, some of these perverts will find it amusing. So be very careful as to not react too much.

Igmore it as much as you can.

I'm sad you're already seeing this at 16. When I was 23, I had two married guys coming to my shop with their wives, I was helping them, and then the two guys came back alone, and one simply asked me out. I was so shocked, I screamed "But you're married!". He blushed and left... I thought it was a one-time incident, but unfortunately, there are way too many men like that.

You just have to keep your eyes open, and simply shrug & leave when it happens to you.
And don't let this affect you.

It may be that you go out of your way to look older and therefore attract older guys. I can't recall the last time I saw a 16 year old who didn't try as hard as she could to look as old as she possibly could.

===

Ok so you insist that you're a good girl. Where are you that all of these old men are hitting on you? Seriously in an average month I can't recall seeing more than a few teenage girls and frankly the times I do see them it wouldn't even be possible to hit on them without going to jail.

Watch what type of clothes you wear and how much make up you put on. Trying to look too sexy or older when you're 16 could be your problem. You may not realize how you are presenting yourself to others. Talk to your mom.

That is rude and gross. Yes alot of guys are like this but not all. Just ignore them when you can. And the others need to just back off cause the cops could be called.
Good luck to you.
