we're not the ones claiming it to be true. it's up to you to prove it to me that your faith is justified.

if i came to you, & said, i have a pink unicorn, it wouldn't be up to you to prove that i didn't really have one. it would be up to me to produce this pink unicorn. this is the same thing.

The Earth is billions of years old and in all that time not one single tiny shred of evidence has come to light to show the existence of a god.
Nobody knows who wrote the bible,so how can anybody KNOW it is the word of god.
I don't have to prove anything as the onus of proof is on the claimant and as yet nobody has been able to prove that the bible is true and that god is real

sure I can prove it - the Bible was written by people to control others. It's history are origins are well known.
But the burden off proof is not on the unbelievers, it's on those making the claims of God and the Bible - it's not up to me or anyone else to disprove God, it's up to those making th claim he is real to prove it. If I tell you the center of the moon is made of Peanut Butter you're under no obligation to believe me unless I can provide proof. My writing a book about it doesn't make it so - only hard physical evidence will conclusively prove my theory. So, where's your proof? And how can you condemn non-believers to hell if you have no proof of your claims?

I give the events in the Bible a very low order of probability. In "The Bible Unearthed," Finkelstien and Silberman demonstrate that archaeology does not support the "history" described in the Bible.

In "Misquoting Jesus," Bart D. Ehrman demonstrates that the original text of the Bible is unavailable and what remains has been altered by copyists and religious leaders who wished to support a particular opinion.

A brief survey of the mythologies of the ancient near and middle east reveals the sources of most of the Biblical stories.

I don't have the ability to prove to anyone that the Bible is true or that God is real.

No one can prove to me that it is not.

The best thing to do is respect people's beliefs. . .and live your life based on yours.

Can you prove magic doesn't exist? I mean Harry Potter says is it. Sound silly? So does using the Bible to prove Christianity is real.

The question is - can you prove it?
Just because things are written in a book does not mean they are true. It's like reading a Harry Potter book and then saying sorcerers are real.

Can you prove the Bible *is* true, with something other than "Because the Bible says it is"?

I don't understand all this stupid religion stuff, but I do know if someone makes a claim that someone good and great exists, they should have to prove it. They should want to prove it

According to the Old Testament, there are numerous prophecies that the Messiah must fulfill.

The New Testament shows that its main character, Jesus, does not fulfill them. Despite this, it calls him the messiah.

As such, the Bible accuses itself of being a liar.

Simple enough.

I spent a good portion of my life trying to know god, but god either wasn't interested or didn't exist. Based on the teachings of churches that claim to be right, it's impossible if he did exist that he'd be uninterested. Therefore he likely doesn't exist. Perhaps some god does exist, but not the one being worshipped on this planet.
