You probably are a nerd. But that's a good thing, even if it doesn't feel that way right now.
In some ways, junior high and high school can be the worst years of your life. People will never treat you as badly as you are being treated now. The peer pressure can be horrendous, the cliques are brutal. I'd never in a million years choose to relive my teen years.
But things will get better. Because you're smart. Because you'll nail your classes in school and college. Because once you get older, it becomes a lot more acceptable to be unique, to do your own thing. Your self-esteem will have had a chance to develop. You'll have more life experience on board. You'll find people to date who appreciate you, who value smarts and a great sense of humor.
Think about how, 20 years from now, all those people who call you a nerd might be working for YOU. Think Bill Gates or Steve Jobs. 'Cuz you're smart.
If I could offer one piece of advice to you, it would be to stay focused on your homework. Don't slide by just because you can. Find things to study that you're passionate about, and keep your brain engaged.

Doesn't sound like a nerd, but maybe there's more to the story. The doing homework in class is not a sign of a nerd. Straight A's without study just means you're smart. If someone doesn't like you, that's their problem.

It's totally okay if someone doesn't like you for being a "nerd". Those distinctions don't mean anything when you're an adult, I promise you. Other people's opinions only have as much influence over you as you allow.
I'm getting ready to get married to a self-proclaimed "nerd" and he is adorable and we have stimulating awesome conversations (I was not considered a nerd myself, really.) But he still has memories of being made fun of when he was young, he lets all of that high school drama/trauma have way too much power over his self-confidence. Whatever you are just own it and love it - it sounds corny but it's really so true.

Yes you are, but from what I believe, as children like you grow older, the people around you will learn to ENVY you for your intelligence. So never put it aside and think of it as a bad thing, because you will get somewhere in life and thats something to be greatful about... knowing that you have the access to get far. Know what i mean? It's not ok if someone doesn't like you just because you are a nerd. Thats rude, but it happens a lot at your age, kids think that way... so it won't ever be that way once you get older.
At your age, I was exactly like you, i won many awards for french oral presentations (speeches) and science fairs. But when I got older and got a boyfriend, I stopped everything and slacked to the point where my grades dropped. I left him and now i'm in high school, putting much more effort... but it's harder for me now since i've gotten so used to slacking at school, but now i really wish I had stuck with it.
So appreciate the way you are, because like i said... you will be envied, just like how i envy you at this moment :P

Being a nerd isn't that bad. Look at Bill Gates. Young nerds grow into the leaders of the world.

Nerds end up having a very pleasant life if they can learn to socialize and have fun. Dress nicely, take care of grooming. By the way, girls find the stars very romantic.

Holy hell, you're me at 13.
I kid you not!
You're not like... ubernerd...
Just a little nred-esque. And that is NOT a bad thing!!!
If you're a nerd, wear it proudly.
Trust me... in time, you will see and reap the benefits of nerd-ness.
Nerniness scored me a successful career in the Film Industry, as well as a small side photography gig.
And as much as they may not say it (which is dofferent from denying it)...
Chicks dig nerdy guys.
Guys dig nerdy chicks.
End of discussion.

You are not a nerd...your smart and you should be proud of yourself, being a nerd to me is someone who pays more attention to their friends then anything else, they try too hard... be natural and who cares, you will attract good friends who are inspired by you...
