Im using Windows XP. How do I back files and not include viruses in the process???

are doing a full backup save on DVD, or network drive

you can also use at no cost the backup from XP... to save just your documents and folders.

Hard not to backup viruses too...unless you have a good set of antivirus/antispyware/firewall software.

What I do is, I have an external drive (Maxstor) that hooks up via USB and has its own software to "replicate" (make a FULL COPY of) the C drive. Before I do it, I run full scans with all the 7 pieces of the above anti-whatevers software... Then I FEEL safe and secure... heh heh ... you know what "assume" does!

You should buy a disk with the space of 4 gb or so... And just put EVERYTHING on it... But if the disk can't handle the information, take another one until you have everything saved....

You can get a program that will do that so when you reformat you can have it all back. They will also clean them. Call Best Buy or a computer place.

Get an imaging software like norton ghost. copies whole folders or whole drives. and restores them as is. google it to find out more info.

just put all your documents onto a CD or flash drive, so that you have them incase your hard drive crashes...
