Try a pawn shop or thrift store, that way you wont spend a ton of money on something you may or may not like. If it turns out you really are taking to the guitar, then invest in a better one.

You can get a decent Yamaha acoustic for $150.00 and even less on sale at the Guitar Center. If it's not on sale talk to the salesman, their very good at reducing the price for you, I think you'll be surprised at how nice these inexpensive guitars sound. Now remember it's not a Gibson, Fender, Taylor, or Martin, but for what your looking for this Yamaha isn't bad.Now make sure that you play them all, it they have five there play all five, as they all sound, feel, and have a different action, so make sure, it take me quite some time to pick out a guitar no matter what the price. And if you decide that you don't have the talent for it or don't like it, you could probably sell it for a good price once the person hears the sound, go on youtube, a girl who looks like she's sitting on her bedroom floor playing a black guitar, singing and playing Green Days, type in, Boulevard of Dreams, the Yamaha sounds like that. I hope this helps you, bye.

After getting your guitar, and if you can get past the sore fingertips until they turn to calluses, you won't be bored.

If boredom overcomes guitar playing, then you are no guitar player.
