i am buying health club memberships for up to 50 staff & have been told i can claim up to 70% back through the taxman as a "benefit in kind". can someone tell me if this is correct and how i go about it?

You can have a deduction for it as part of the costs of paying remuneration - the health club benefit is charged on the staff as a benefit. You will need to complete P11d forms for each member of staff. Contact your payroll provider for details or ask the person who does your payroll to speak to the tax office.

If it is a "benefit in kind" then your staff will have to pay tax on it as though it was part of their wages.
