My friends and I have been planning a fishing trip for about a week. We planned on fishing off of a salt water pier. It started raining real heavy today for about 3 hours and then it stopped. How will that affect our fishing trip? Will the fish still bite or should we just plan on going another day?

Just like in freshwater fishing you want to during or after the rain, because most baitfish (ya kno the stupid ones) come up to bite at the rain thinking that they're bugs or whatever, and because these baitfish come up the predator fish come up to eat the baitfish. So if I was you I'd still go.

Just go out and fish...If you dont catch as many fish as you wanted your still out there with your friends, arent you? You'd be surprised at how a heavy rain will have different affects....Some times the rain sends fish to the deep while other it sends them to piers where they "hide" in a way.

It's all about finding the fish. If there are fish at the pier they will bite despite the heavy rain.

It all depends on the type of bottom and if there is any river runoff to where you are fishing, if so you may encounter alot of mud in the water hindering fish sense of smell and visibiliy
if you are going for blues use fresh bait(bunker) and a "fireball rig" in bright yellow or orange to attract em...if you are flukin use bright bucktails and jigs...But yes of course you should go no matter what....fishing with your buddies is always a great time. Enjoy!

Like I continuously say approximately fishing contained in the rain..."The fish do no longer care because of the fact that they're moist already" a sprint rain makes them much less probable to spook away. be careful if it incredibly is lightening with the rain..it incredibly is a danger that doesn't make experience to take.

I would go fishing as planned. Then I would go another day too. The air is cleanest after a good rain.
