I just read the answer this refers to. What a hate filled little diatribe that was. I'm sure the loathsome wretch that wrote it considers him/herself a "good Christian."

Whoever said that needs to open their mind and stop being so ignorant.
It would have been closed minded to have interpreted (obviously on purpose) your question as being offensive (I read it, and it was a perfectly honest and reasonable question, that could be taken no other way).
And then to further shame themselves by showing you exactly the same ignorance they supposedly saw in you? I call that hypocrisy. It is an illness in itself, yet it is symptomatic of closed-mindedness.
All that I can suggest is that you now take this on board. I don't know how it works, but whenever I receive ignorance and hate, I just take it on board, and afterwards I don't feel the same way.
Every time somebody shows disregard and hate towards me, I lap it up, and for some reason I learn to love them instead of holding a grudge. I have no idea whether this would work for you or not.
I think that your aggressor is beyond help right now. But please try to be forgiving. It's the best way to rise above it.
Thank you for this intriguing question, as it has really helped me to understand how much work I will need to do to open the minds of the most hardened fundies.
As with all illnesses, ignorance should be treated, but the patient should be cared for. I only hope we can nurse your aggressor to health.
May peace follow you throughout your life.

absolutely, We are all prejudice. Any time you disagree with any group or belief system then you are prejudice. that is not a bad thing. The bad part comes in when you attempt to oppress the group or individual that you are prejudice against. I am can say "I hate you". I just can not act on that hate. So believe what you want and hate who you want. If that makes you feel better. Of course I wish we could all just get along. (this is the part a small tear flows down my cheek.) (sniff)

Honey - messing with Harry Potter fans is the equivelent of wearing a Yankees jersey to Fenway Park.
You're intitled to your own beliefs, some people don't judge them, so people do, but this is internet-land and there's no holds barred when it comes to answers. Don't worry about what others think.

Isis, SOME folks believe in freedom of expression ONLY as long as ONLY they get to express it. They have NO concept that freedom of anything means that EVERYONE must have that very freedom, not just a "select few". Those are the SAME folks who will scream that THEY are being persecuted while at the same time they are persecuting everyone else who doesn't share their narrow view of things.

Well, the existence of people who are prejudiced and whose beliefs are rubbish certainly makes sense, (this website proves their existence every day). However, I would say the person "answering" your question was the prejudiced one with stupid ideas, not you.

Probably to the one that said it. But the questions remains: Are your beliefs rubbish? The jury is still out on that one.

Prejudice begets judgment? You must forgive them for being so hypocritical, for they know not what they do.

By calling someone out like that I would think it would make him as guilty of what he accused you of. Hold your head high. . .you know who you are. . .and that is all that matters. . .you have never come off as prejudice to me. . .shame on him.
