I usually download movies and videos from torrents but it so happened that when i downloaded Pirates of the Carribean - At Worlds End , the movie was of .bin format and i have tried to play it from various media players like Windows Media Player and VLC Player, but none of the media players support this format.
Please tell me a player that will be able to play this movie.

Thanks in advance !!

As I understand it a .bin file is like an ISO file. You need to burn it to a CD/DVD then play it.

bin files are not a specific format, rather they are binary files, that contain anything else (like a folder or a zip file).

There's no such thing as .bin video format.

".bin" is normally an extension used by a CD image file. CD image itself is a "snapshot" of a CD disc that can contain virtually anything—software, a VCD movie, an SVCD movie, a game, X rated images, etc.

For .bin files, you should always try open the .bin file first. Think of it as a very large "zip file" that fits usually perfectly to a single CDR disc.

There is a way to play .bin files from your hard drive, without mounting them. Just simply download Video LAN Client, a free piece of software that allows you to drag/drop the .bin file onto its player:

VLC v0.8.6c:

VLC (initially VideoLAN Client) is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. It can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.

VLC handles many different video and audio formats, without the need of codecs—which are all embedded in the program.

ALTERNATIVE METHODS:

For opening such image, you have two options: You can burn it to a CDR, and see what it has inside it—after you've burned the disc. Guide for burning a .bin file with Nero to CDR is available here:

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/bin_cue_with_nero.cfm>.

Another option is to map the .bin image file as a "virtual" CD-ROM drive, where your system sees the contents of the image file as a new "fake" CD-ROM drive. You can do this by using a freeware tool called Daemon Tools:

.bin format basically means that u have to create a disk drive (or virtual drive) to play it. It should have come with a .cue format most probably? I thnk you can create a new disk by simplying using Nero, but i have not done this b4. I have however created a virtual drive and been able to use these .bin files. Search for a free software called MagicISO and all will be explained.
