Isolde; Israel was commanded to tithe, not "we" or us. Rule #1: Who is speaking, and who is being spoken to.

The tithe was never based upon wages; only produce and livestock.

The Hebrew and Greek words for "tithe" mean "a tenth."

Sometimes a tithe can refer to a general offering and not specifically ten percent of one's income.

Tithes were not always money, but could be from any type of increase, including livestock, food, property, etc.

"The tithe was never based upon wages; only produce and livestock."

Deutreonomy 14:22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
