i used one of those clear sticky things that are meant to be a clearer way to help coldsores, i put it on 5 or so hours ago, and i cant get it off! im not going to rip it, because i dont want to make the coldsore worse, erghh! the instruction booklet doesnt mention getting them off!

Don't use those patches. I use Herpecin ~ it is EXCELLENT and not too expensive life Abreva and the other ones. It comes in a tin and also in a lipstick type tube. In 2 days the sore is healing and in 5 days it is gone.
You gotta pull that sucker off !!! You could use baby oil to help release the adhesive.

I would try soaking it off with a warm wet wash cloth.
