If you want to know the gas mileage along with other ratings on any recently produced car at all, go to Consumer Reports. I rely on this non-profit organization before purchasing any autos. They give honest and non-biased ratings about cars and recommend only ones that: are reliable, safe (as judged by the IIHS and the NHTSA), and good in performance. They also give you the REAL gas mileage rating. When the EPA or the company that sold the car gives you gas mileage, they give you the MPG of the car with this situation:

>>>On the highway
>>>No passengers
>>>A/C and heater off
>>>Travelling under the speed limit
>>>No luggage or weighted objects in the car
>>>Brand new
>>>Lightweight driver

And that's just not realistic. CR also gives you both MPG ratings (city and highway) and a mixed driving rating (driving on the highway through cities). So check out this website for the fuel efficiency rating and for ratings on future cars and other products, too. They rate almost anything.

According to manufacturer specs 16/19 city/highway. With the 5.7L V8. That doesn't necessarily mean you will get that though. Basically you have to take into account your driving habbits, where you drive (stop and go traffic, highway, offroad, etc). If you tow or haul anything your mileage will go down.

My take on any truck though is that its a work vehicle, and gas mileage is the least of my worries due to the fact that when I look at a work vehicle I look for capacities, performance, and the ability to tow, haul, and take me and my equipment where I need to go safely and quickly.

I currently do not own one, but will be trading in my car and Jeep on one. They're nice trucks.

I have owned one for just over 2 months and almost 5K miles. Overall with a good mix of city and hwy use, I am averaging about 14 without towing or hauling. I do have to state that the newness hasn't worn off, it is a really quick and powerful truck and I tend to have a lead foot.

More like how bad is it. Tundras are powerful, and heavy. They suck it down. I also have heard much about cam problems in the V-8. Really they are just about as good as any other full size, just more expensive.

DO NOT BUY A TUNDRA, THEY MAKE THE FORDS SEEM RELIABLE.

But you asked about fuel economy, the Tundra is 14-17 city, 18-20 highway, the Silverado/Sierra is 15-16city/19-22 highway. the GM's also have the option of Flex-Fuel, while decreasing fuel economy, it costs much less to buy E85 than gas. A Hybrid GMC Sierra used to be avaliable, Im not sure if it still is but it would not be worth the extra money, no hybrid is.

Usually people who drive a truck like that don't care about mileage.
