Ramen noodles are a dried Japanese noodle that comes with a flavor packet and is very cheap (about $1 a packet) and filling so it is popular with students as a staple in college and with kids as an after school snack. It is not as good as fresh ramen noodle served in Japanese noodle houses or available at Asian markets but since it is so affordable people will buy it and add ingredients to make it more tasty there is an image of the popular brand "Top Ramen" here : http://www.koamart.com/images/products/2997_thumb.jpg . Hope this helped!

They are a kind of noodle with a flavoring packet. You boil the noodles, add the flavor packet, stir and eat. The link below will explain more. To me they just taste like salty noodles.

They are thin dried noodles that come in a package of cellophane. When you open the package they look like a brick of noodles.

Ramen noodles are really cheap instant noodles. You can buy them at groceries stores. It's not too healthy, but they're really good.

here you will find information about ramen noodles and all of their flavors.......

A wide variety of ramen exists in Japan, with geographical and vendor-specific differences even in varieties that share the same name. Ramen can be broadly categorized by its two main ingredients: noodles and soup.

Noodles
Most ramen noodles are made from four basic ingredients: wheat flour, salt, water, and kansui, which is essentially a type of mineral water, containing sodium carbonate and usually potassium carbonate, as well as sometimes a small amount of phosphoric acid.

Soup

Ramen vending machineRamen soup is generally made from stock based on chicken or pork, combined with a variety of ingredients such as kombu (kelp), katsuobushi (skipjack tuna flakes), niboshi (dried baby sardines), beef bones, shiitake, and onions, and then flavored with the likes of salt, miso, or soy sauce.
