sun blocks work the same for black skin as they do for white skin or asian skin, and it looks the same no matter who wears it. sun screens are not recommended for long term use, it has chemicals in it that react with human skin to actually cause cancers. So, either wear sun block or avoid the sun.

Check with your local pharmacy, or doctor.
Explain to them your concerns, and they should give you advice on which product is best for you.
Although there is much advice about sun protection, and I am white skinned, it seems biased on white skin, maybe there should be more advice out there for black skin, your health is just as important as mine.
Hope this helps.

As higher spf factor as you can,
the best protection is to not go out in the sun in the midday when its at it hottest, if you have to go out then, cover up and wear a hat.
