>>justme&3 - I haven't gone on national news taking blankets and white shirts out of a U-Haul stating they were "free of charge" either.

Our church usually works thru another agency, like the Salvation Army, or the Red Cross, to get aid to people in disasters. I've heard that our LDS Family (formerly Social) Services works thru other christian social services (Lutheran and Catholic for example) to handle things like adoptions.

The Mormons were the first ones there. If you read news articles of the time that Katrina happened, it's kind of funny because the public officials credit 2 churches, the Mormons and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as being the first and most organized helpers. Just because USA today doesn't have them on their sidebar doesn't mean they weren't, and aren't, still there. It just means some reporter didn't do their homework.

Can we see proof that you, yourself helped out in any way shape or form? Until then don't criticize. I seem to remember that the "Mormons" were one of the first ones there.
Do you do any humanitarian service, donate your time, talents or money? Let's see you on video offering up your services.

I know that they believe in stages of glory, that men become Gods while women become perpetually pregnant with souls yet to be born. Men may marry for all eternity to wifes daughters as well as wives. My mother was a fervent believer and visited the temple to act as surrogate to marry her dead parents to each other eternally. I don't question the seed of my faith in God which began with my mother dedicating to this religion but I do not believe they as a unit of belief have any right to sit in judgement on my soul. That is between Jesus Christ and me. My Father sent my brother to save me. That's simple enough for any one who has or knows a big brother to understand,

Good Question.
The Mormons are well known for helping their community out. I would be really surprised if they have not been out to help Katrina victims.

I'm not a mormon, but often feel like I have to defend them from people's assumptions. They aren't listed on the sidebar, but logically, there are more explanations to that than "they didn't do anything", though that is one possibility. The other possibility it that they were just overlooked when USA Today published this. One thing I will always say about the mormons (though I don't much like them) is that they do contribute to alot of charities.
