i'm adding up hours from a time card .someone said it's easier in military time. just wanted to try

In the am the hours are the same. example 1 am is 0100, 2 am is 0200 and so on until noon which is 1200. After that you just add whatever time it is to 12. Example 1 pm is 1300, 2 pm is 1400, 3 pm is 1500....

Civilians have two sets of twelve hours in the same 24 hour period. Military has 24 different hours. 1:00 pm is referred to as 1300 hours, 2:00 pm is 1400 hours and so on. Time difference between 1:00 pm and 11:00 am is confusing for some. while difference between 1300 hrs and 1100 hrs is fairly simple. KISS Keep it simple stupid

24 hours in day, numbered 0 to 23 (instead of 12-12-12)
So, anything after 12 noon, you just keep counting.... 13:00 is equivalent to 1pm, 14:00 is equivalent to 2pm. etc.
So, for a day at work, say "9 to 5" that would be 9:00 to 17:00 -- the math is simple...... 17 - 9 = 8. Rather than having to go (12-9 =3 +5 = 8)

From noon on take the hour number and add 12.
5 p.m. = 1700.
By the way this is not just military time. Some countries use it instead of 24/12. The main reason we use the older times is because of the way a clock dial is laid out.

After noon or 1200 just as 12 to the time.
ie 3 pm + 12 will make 1500
or 6 bells but I am not going to go into that.

1am = 0100
2am = 0200, .....
through noon = 1200
1pm = 1300
2pm =1400 ....
through 2400 (midnight)
then anything that is not on the hour say 1:15 pm that is 1315.
