Need more information as there are 4 corners to a square. I assume you mean the distance between the two farthest corners. The length is the sq root of the length and height squared, then added together. This would be c = sq rt of a^2 + b^2. c= sq root of 24^2 + 36^2. c= sq rt of (576+1296). c = sq rt of 1872. c=43.27 ft.

The answer is 49.77 ft.
Imagine a room with all four sides 24 ft each and the height as 36 ft. Using pythag, calculate the diagonal distance which is approx 49 ft.
Its not a square or a cube. It's a square room with a 36 ft height.

SmartA$$ has a point but all technicalities aside,
cutting the rectangle as specified would leave a right triangle. This leaves you with the basic Pythagorean theorem, A squared plus B squared equals C squared.
(Height * Height) + (Length*Length) = (Hypotenuse*Hypotenuse)
about 42.3 Feet.

Do you mean the length of a diagonal? Simple - square the length of the side, square the length of the base, add the two numbers, and take the square root of the result. It's the Pythagorean Theorem.
Giving you more than that would cheat you out of your education, and we wouldn't want that to happen.

the answer is the square root of 1872 or about 43.267. You get it by squaring the lengths of the two sides, adding them together and taking the square root of that. 24X24=576 36X36=1296 and 576 +1296 = 1872. the square root of 1872 is about equal to 43.267.

43.26 ft. a squared plus b squared = c squared
But this is not technically a square. It is a rectangle. A square has all sides equal.
