Nature(or super nature) vs Nurture. Bottom line is that studies show that most people carry on the faith of their parents. This is because of the early indoctrination imposed upon children. Nurture wins here. Children have curiosity and usually ask difficult and embarrassing questions of religious authorities. I believe that if children were allowed to grow naturally they would all come to the conclusion that there is no god. I think that the posters saying that they would have been called to Christ even if they were born in India are completely delusional.

If I were born of Christian parents, YES! Otherwise, I'd probably
have a 20% chance of being converted to Christianity in later
years through contacts with Christians who really act like Christians or through attending schools run or dominated by Christians in my country of birth or overseas.

Only God would truly know the answer to that.
Christians in places like India and China (there are actually significant numbers of them) are what is known as "the Suffering Church". Believers who are willing to suffer ostracism, danger, and sometimes even death to witness for their faith.
"The Church Militant" is most of the rest of us here on earth, "the Church Triumphant" are the believers who have gone to heaven already.

nope. I'd probably be a hindu or buddhist... BUT more likely (provided I was well educated enough) I would have come to a lot of the same conclusions I did here.

One would more likely be Hindu or Buddhist but that does not mean one would never be Christian.

Are you assuming there are no Christians in India or China?

How would we know that?
In my opinion, i may not have been (but I agree with primoa^ on this)...but see, that just proves my point! God is bigger, and that's why I was born here! haha
Would you be whatever you are now?
(I would imagine you can't answer that with 100% certainty.)

If your parents were Hindu you would have found lots of gods.
If your parents had been Buddhist (please lay off the stupid spelling, btw) you wouldn't have needed to find any god.

Of course they wouldn't--and are you deliberately mis-spelling Buddhist out of disrespect?

I sincerely hope not -- I'd like to think I'd still have the sense to see through it all and remain an atheist.....
