Matthew 13:18-23
18 "Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away. 22 The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. 23 But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."
GOD'S word warns us not to listen to unbelievers.
1 Tim.6:20
20 Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, (N.I.V)
K.J.V.
20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
SATAN'S SELF-APPOINTED JOB IS TO REMOVE YOU FROM THE TRUTH.

Science and religion aren't mutually exclusive. There are many things that science cannot explain. There are many things that religion misses on as well.
You should study both and form your own opinions on each. Don't take the word of those who dismiss one or the other. I have found balance between the two. There are many religions, don't restrict your quest for knowledge to just one faith. Don't take the word of a few scientists as fact either. Science is a work in progress based on disproving the generally accepted theory. As others have pointed out, scientists have made some huge blunders in the past and present. No doubt religion has as well. It is the basis upon which many if not most wars are started.
If your doubts involve God, then perhaps you should reevaluate what or who you believe God to be. That is also subject to interpretation. An omnipotent spirit with a bad temper is not the only possibility.
These things will resolve themselves in time. When, is not really that important. Just live a righteous life anyway.
Faith is not required to do the right thing is it?

It sounds as though you'd like to believe the Bible, but hear many other voices out there with different opinions. Everybody is entitled to their opinions. The best thing I suggest you do is check out what they say. The Bible is often misquoted. I've heard somebody, for instance, say that the Bible contradicts itself because it says "eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" and it says "turn the other cheek." True, it says that, but they didn't know where. Actually, it is in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) and it says, "You have heard it said an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, but I tell you, turn the other cheek." "Contradiction" solved. She didn't know where she heard it, and didn't know the Bible, but looking into it to prove it right or wrong resulted it solving the riddle.
The Bible says the world is a sphere (Isaiah 40:22). Science did not used to believe that, but now they do. The Bible says that there are an incalcuable number of stars (Jeremiah 33:22). Science used to say that there were only 1,100 stars. The Bible says that the earth floats free in space. Science used to say that it sat on an animal. The Bible says that air has weight. (Job 28:25). Science used to believe it is weightless.
Unlike other Christians, I am not opposed to science. I am just saying that not all science is known, and it seems that as it becomes known, it ends up agreeing with what the Bible says. (By the way, I found the information from above on Ray Comfort's web-site www.evidencebible.com.
Also, you will note as you study different opinions (including the ones I just stated above) that the evidence is usually from that person's point of view. Check out the evidence opposed to it also. If quotes are there, look at the footnotes, and follow through searching to see if the quotes are correct or taken out of context.
And, above all pray. As you see God work in your own life, you will have something to "stand" on as a foundation to counter the lies. If you once believed the Bible to be true, have you studied it to find answers? Again, I go back to the fact that it is so often misquoted. If you find things in the Bible which don't make sense, try looking at study Bible notes, commentaries, whatever, to see how they "fit" together. The Blue Letter Bible has a lot of study helps. Or go to Gateway.

It all comes down to faith. You have to decide what you want to put your faith in. Faith is not always having the answers, but believing anyway. It is normal to question sometimes. That is how we grow.
I don't think you are turning into an atheist yet. Some of the people on here want you to think the Bible is silly. That is how they get you to doubt your faith and become atheist or whatever they are offering.
You need to do some serious searching - pray, read the Bible, talk to people who's faith you admire. Then and only then, after you have gained enough knowledge, decide what you want to put your faith in.

there are more in this world than Christians and Atheists
having doubts about some things in the bible doesnt automatically take all your beliefs in God away
i know many Christians that through questions and doubt have learned to see the bible more metaphorically
dont listen to either side here
not the Atheists or the Christians
think for yourself ... how do you feel .... what makes sense to you and you alone
then take it from there

Contrary to what you might have been taught, it really is OK to have doubts and to want to find out the answers for yourself, rather than taking someone else's word for it.
Keep learning, keep asking questions, and always question the motives of people who don't want you to have too much knowledge or doubt.

Even the strongest Christians doubt. It's natural, and it shows that you are actually thinking about your faith instead of blindly accepting what you're told. There's no problem with that.
I question and doubt these things and I consider myself a strong Christian. Maybe you will end up as an atheist, maybe you will end up confirming your faith; one way or another don't let other people convince you. It's up to you and only you.

I believe the nagging thought is satan trying to trick you; he's done it before and he'll try to do it again. you can't listen to what people think about the Bible; you have to believe for yourself. the Bible is different and that's why people question it. Science and the Bible definitely contradict each other; it's all about faith. do you have the faith to persevere, to take a stand for Christ? if not, than what/who are you taking a stand for. I will pray that you make a wise decision for YOU, not based on what other people say.

The best thing that you can do is pray. Ask God to reveal himself to you. Whenever I begin to doubt, God will bring something to my attention that shows me that He is real and at work in this world. Occasional doubt doesn't mean that you are turning into an atheist. It means that you are nurturing your relationship with God. Be in the Word everyday and prayer without ceasing.

Good for you.
It sounds like your ability to reason is kicking in. You might be on the road to deconverting. It is a hard road. There are many emotional hooks that religion gets into you and it is hard to break them. Once you do, though, you'll find the world makes much more sense and you'll be much more at peace with yourself.
But don't just listen to me. Do your own research and really look into what your religious beliefs are and where they come from. Look at all the other religions and compare their beliefs. Then look into other human beliefs such as alien abductions, ghost stories, conspiracy theories, myths, and urban legends, and see how those beliefs compare to religious beliefs.
Also look into the history of each religion and try to see it from the point of view of the society from which it came from. Look at how their beliefs changed through the years and how society has shaped religion.
It looks like you're already learning more about science. Look into the scientific process and compare it with how religion makes absolute claims.
Basically, keep learning and reasoning. Good luck on your journey.
