if you see an email address in the browser and the @ is not appearing properly what character is appearing?
windows allows for alternate character mappings
including different languages
you sure the default ENGLISH is selected?

well what symbol does it display instead?
What country is the keyboard set up for?
Does the "@" key work in any other application?
if yes then try re-installing Internet explorer over the top of the old one :-)
if not say and I will tell you over here

it happened to me i had to pree the digit 2 toget @ just try holding the down button and pressing 2 at the same time if not hold the down button and go through all the numbers one at a time it worked for me

if it is showing up as a 2 then he needs to remember to use the shift switch

sometimes, like on my com @turns out as the " key and "turns out as the @ key.
