I think many people fear gays because they have subliminal homosexual attractions. You hear a lot of people say, "I don't mind gay guys as long as they don't hit on me", but what they really mean is "I'm afraid they will hit on me because I'm afraid I might say yes".
It seems those who speak out most loudly against gays are likely to be the ones deepest in the closet.

The Judeo Christian tradition undoubtedly focuses on Man and Woman as proper to Marriage. This has the added benefit of procreation of children. Human nature is best shown forth in the two complementary elements of Man and Woman. The man has certain characteristics that make him man, while the woman has certain characteristics that make her woman. Even beyond the physical differences. Motherhood and Fatherhood are shown best in man and woman.
Now same sex marriage show man and man, or woman and woman. The two perspectives are destroyed.
I'm not against gays in any way, but this same sex marriage thing is just bad for society. It leads to confused kids.
I know two men who are married (be it illigelly). Their son came to me and said, "I am embarrassed at school when my Dad drops me off and the students ask, "Who is that with your Dad?"" He felt bad that he has a Daddy and a Daddy.
There are so many implications in same sex marriages that come out over time that it is going to be a major problem. It may seem fashionable as gays come out of the closet, but it is not good for society for man to marry man, or woman to marry woman. It will have bad effects on family life no matter what the gay lifestyle promoters say.

Because of a LITTLE tiny passage in a bible. It's so, so stupid to hold a little phrase in an ancient, ridiculous book above your own opinion and common sense.
And even IF someone believes being gay is wrong, why do they care what other people do? I usually put it like this: If you, personally, don't like the idea of gay people marrying, then DON'T be in a gay marriage yourself. That's your choice. But let others do what they want to do; it's not your life. Is the world going to blow up or go evil because gay people are getting married? Give me a break.

Yeah, you'd think so, huh. I'm not gay but I think discrimination of them is one of our top homefront priorities. The only reason, EVER, not to allow gay marriage is simply because it's against the bible. This directly contradicts the Bill of Rights' establishment clause, which clearly states that the government shall not regard one religion higher than the other. The only reason gay people aren't allowed to marry is because of our government's mistreatment of the rules it was founded on.

Simple; most people who are against it are afraid that they'll be tempted into having a gay marriage. It's all about psychological repression.

Because it is unnatural, and against God and if allowed, it would encourage more people to act immorally in this way. In the same way that if we did not punish murder, more murder would be committed.
