Can you eat the beans from an Indian Bean tree?

Just wondered if they were edible.

If the tree you are referring to is Catalpa bignonioides, well no...many of the bignoniaceae are not edible and as a general caution I would say this too is not edible. For starters, the family is far removed from the true bean family (Fabaceae). It may well be poisonous.

no. they are not beans, but small fringed seeds
