Try this Jambilaya soup recipie:

Ingredients:
4 cans of chicken broth
sausage (browned and cut to size)
2 boxes of long grain wild rice
1 can of stewed tomatoes
1 can of pinto beans
1 bag of shredded mozzerela
hot sauce to taste

Basically you add all these ingredients(everything except cheese) at once, but only put 1 of the boxed rice seasoning packets. Anything more will end up too salty. Cook the whole thing for at least a 2-3 hours. I like to cook it on the stove top myself, it takes about 45 minutes. Once cooked spoon in bowl and top with cheese.

Suggestion: Add an assortment of veggies such as onions and yellow squash to make this dish heartier.

CROCK POT SAUSAGE & POTATOES

About 1 1/2 lbs. Polish sausage, sliced
1 lg. pkg. frozen hash brown potatoes
1 can Cheddar cheese soup
1/2 (15 oz.) can evaporated milk
1 bunch green onions, diced
Pepper
Garlic powder
(A can of diced chilies may be added if desired)

Grease crock pot. Combine sausage, potatoes, onions and spices in crock pot. Mix together soup and milk; pour over ingredients in crock pot. Stir together. Simmer in pot about 6 hours, stirring occasionally.

i make my sausage in to a dip in the slow cooker
1 pkg hot
1 pkg reg or mild
1 brick of velvetta
1-2 cups milk or more for creamier

brown up the sausage and drain fat...
add all to slow cooker. when all melted together you are ready to serve- keep on low- it has a tendency to burn at higher temps
serve with crackers and bread cubes....

or you can do a sausage gravy in the slow cooker and serve over breakfast biscuits or english muffins... sorry no recipe handy i'm at work lol
