Will the Christians stop attacking atheists? I doubt it. You're pointing fingers the wrong way.
Most of the activity here from Christians is telling lies about people who do not share their beliefs. As long as that's what Christians do here, I'll be here defending atheists, regardless of whether or not there's an atheist site.
I see you're the same person who recently posted this "question":
====================
0 Christians, Bible verse help needed here, what verses refer to what happens to those who attack Christians ?
I am so sick to death on here of Christians being lumped together as idiots. There are many verses in the Bible that tell what will happen to those who rise up against God and his followers,maybe these attackers need to hear a few and please come back and vote down the idiots who reply as we ask them not to answer as we are not asking for their opinion.
====================
I repeat my answer:
Lemme get this straight - You're sick of Christians being thought of as idiots, and you're going to respond by quoting Bible verses that threaten people?
Is your head enclosed in some kind of box?

You might try reading the title at the top of this page a little more closely. It says RELIGION, not "Religious" and there is a world of difference.
When you created you Yahoo!Answers account, you checked a little box that meant you agree to the terms which Yahoo has for this site.
One of them says that ANYONE may ask and answers in any category.
Thus, you can use the royalty section if you are not a king, the reptiles section if you are a mammal. the myths and folklore section even if you actually exist.
Bottom line, if you want to play in Yahoo's yard, you have to play by Yahoo';s rules. You do get to choose, and if you don't like it, then chose to go away.

Religious belief IS opinion. It can never be anything more.
I see a lot of religionists telling atheists that they're going to hell or going to be left behing when god's holy hoover arrives on Rapture Day (like we care - duh). What I don't see is many religionists giving away their money to the poor because they won't need it when they get "raptured" - so not much real faith there then.
I see a whole load of crap about how the Earth is only 6,000 years old and how my children should be taught that instead of evolution depsite the fact the evolution is evidence-based and creationism is backed by a book which also states that donkeys can talk.
I see attempts by religious groups to change the way my country is being run.
I see religionists trying to banish people who hold different opinions from their own.
What I DON'T see from so-called christians is the tolerance, loving-their-neighbour, turning-the-other-cheek forgiveness and enlightenment that they so often preach and so seldom actually practice.

For one, I as a Christian enjoy reading some of the atheists' opinions.
Many of them are kind and respectful and really want to know why we believe as we do.
If everyone were the same, the world would be dull.
The ones that you refer to are not "real atheists." They are little immature teenagers who are posting only as a joke. They think it's fun and amusing to stir up trouble.
They are the ones who are rude and vulgar.
Just ignore the little teeny bopper pretenders.

I don't. This is a site to discuss religion. I've seen alot of Christians beating down Athiest too. I don't think that's the way to win them over either. I think we as Christians need to see why they believe the way they do and use it to be more effective witnesses. Who cares if they lash out insults at us? Didn't Jesus say the world hated Him & they will hate us too? How can you get angry at them? What happened to turn the other cheek?

There are loads of forums where you can go to be with other religious folks, and anyone they don't like can be booted out. This, however, is not a forum just for religious folks - it's a forum for asking and asking questions about religion. Therefore we atheists belong here just as much as anyone else.

I wonder why, being non-believers, they come to R&S.
It is easy to see the types of seeds they sow, but it does give an insight as to not only what they believe, but all the whys and atitudes they hold as well.
I have found many to be rather nice people, even nicer than a few that claim the name of Christ.

I am not a Christian, but I think you have a valid point. This is a question and answer format. If people would stick to that, I think everyone would feel more comfortable.
To answer you question: you can have the site you want simply by ignoring the answers that are not real answers. I can assure you that others who read those things don't pay much attention to them. Stick around and don't let it get to you.

Wow, remember the First Ammendment? Yeah, it doesn't garuntee you freedom from other people's opinions.
And it there weren't atheists here, who would disabuse people of the idea that we're all degenerate suicidal/homicidal maniacs out to destroy the world? Because the Christians sure can't seem to accept that.

I just wish the questions and answers were much more mature from both ends of the table. We all attack each other far too much to actually be trying to learn about what we honestly don't have all the answers to.
BTW...Wendy I think you make a VERY valid point. I'm all for it.
