I read and study my bible regularly. I own several and use them all.
I agree with what you say. I don't know what "translation" some of them are using, but it doesn't match anything that I have seen.

Yes, I read the Bible, and I own several of them - different translations. I read them all.
Yes, I agree that there are some strange "Christian" answers on here, some bordering on blasphemy or maybe more accurately, heresy.
I agree with accountant above - some of this might be due to people who go off totally on their own reading the Bible without any guidance (both earthly and by the Holy Spirit) and end up interpreting it for themselves, putting their own "spin" on it. Here's what the Bible itself says about that -
2 Peter 1:20-21 (Amplified Bible)
20[Yet] first [you must] understand this, that no prophecy of Scripture is [a matter] of any personal or private or special interpretation (loosening, solving).
21For no prophecy ever originated because some man willed it [to do so--it never came by human impulse], but men spoke from God who were borne along (moved and impelled) by the Holy Spirit.
I am Catholic myself, and I can tell you that the weekly (and daily) readings of the Bible at Mass (the "Lectionary", as it is called) are specifically designed to take from many different parts of the Bible so not too much emphasis is put on any one part.
The Bible should be read as a whole, in context, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the Church.

Yes, I own a Bible,3,in fact, and have been reading it for over 45 years, as well as attending church just about every Sunday. What am I supposed to infer from your question, and the quotes around the word Christians? Do some of us fail occasionally to live our religion? Yes, we're human, and we're subject to emotions, illness, headaches, tiredness, just like real people, as well as having been taught the wrong or another interpretation of the Bible, that might not agree with your preconceived interpretation. So, occasionally, we fail. We're not perfect. We're on the journey to perfection, we're not there ,yet, but trying is the key.

Hi Shovelhead. Yes, I do own a Bible and I do actually read it. I have to agree with you about the strange answers and blasphemy going on here. It is people like that that make us all seem ignorant. I wish they would just stop it already!

Yes, I do. I have several different translations.
I own 4 Bibles.
I read them.
I am a devoted Christian, and I don't detest Science. Neither did these famous scientists:
Copernicus, Einstein, Sir Francis Bacon, Galileo....

I agree that some of the answes given are strange.
Thanks for the question.
Have a nice day.

Anyone can call themselves anything they want to, just because someone calls themselves a christian does not mean they are.
A male can claim to be a female, but does that make them what they claim to be?
True Christians, not only know the word, but they read the word of GOD.
As I have read some things in Y/A some unbelievers know the word, yet still do not believe the word. They use it to entice Christians into a battle of Witts.
So what are you really seeking, truth or confirmation on your own believes, Or to get Christian's to brag on themselves?

Its true most people dont read their Bibles, but i try to read mine every day, at least 2 chapters. This way i can read the whole Bible in a year. Sometimes i'll admit, i dont get a chance to, but then i double the reading the next day.
2 chapters is not much, compared to how much God gives to us.

Yes, I own a bible and read it. And when I attend Mass weekly over a three year period, I hear more than 60% of the New Testament.
The answers that seem strange and border on blasphemous result sometimes because people privately interpret scripture, something that scripture tells us not to do. The church, not the bible, is the bulwark of the faith.
