Why do jews seperate themselves from different races?

Nope- we are a RELIGION, not a race. There are jews from every race and ethnicity, so if we were to seperate from othe rraces, we woudl have to seperatre form ourselves.

Judaism is not a race. There have been many, many converts to Judaism.

Jews do not separate themselves from others, in fact they are admonished not to do so.

It may appear that they do so though because of dietary restrictions. Orthodox Jews are "observant" of all the commandments in the Bible which precludes them from eating food prepared by non-Jews (the food and the preparation is not kosher). However, you are very welcome in their home.

Sometimes I think of it like someone with an peanut allergy. If I could die from eating peanuts, I would be extremely careful about the food I ate!

I think this is a common practice everywhere for all kinds of groups. People simply hang around others who are familiar with their customs. They feel more comfortable there.

If you are not Chinese, you may not want to live in Chinatown. But if you are Chinese, you might like to live there. Just think of this kind of thing as a "cultural family."
