I was adopted at birth and recently obtained my adoption records. So I have the maiden name of my birth mother and her last name when she was married but I know she got divorced. I'm not sure if she's gotten married again in the last 25 years, so I'm not sure how to even start looking for her. I'm pretty sure that she still lives here in Alberta Canada, but I'm trying to do free internet seaches and don't know where to even start. Does anyone have any ideas??

OK, well, none of those answers helped. My birth mom wrote numerous letters over the years to me (that my adopted parents never gave me or told me about) and I know that she wants to keep in touch. I'm not trying to replace a parent, I just need some questions answered. I don't know what city she lives in, and I don't know how what he last name would be now, i do know that I have at least 3 brothers and sisters and that my birth mom is interested in contacting me. My adoptive parents are no help as they.... well let's just say we don't get along. If anyone has any other ideas.... HELPFUL ideas, let me know.

have you tried asking your adoption parents?

or even if you were in care or something before you were with your adopted parents you can find out from the care hoke you were put into.

or do a family tree, ok is very hard to do but if you type in the maiden names and that someone related to your birth mum will come up and find out from there by getting intouch with them.

or you could always try the jeremy kyle show- no joke he will find her

I have an idea, stop now.

I was adopted and I had to give up a child for adoption when I was a teenager. If he were to show up on my doorstep today I would send him packing back to the parents who raised him. Not because I don't love him, I loved him enough to want to make sure that he would have a decent life and loving stable parents. But because when I did that the only way I could deal with the loss was to firmly tell myself that he was NOT nor would he ever be, mine.

Leave your birth mother in peace and appreciate the the parents who wanted you so badly.

I dont think you'l find her through the net, a good idea is to go to the hosopital you were born at and show them your birth cert (if you have one, you're supposed to)

Try putting an ad in the personals. If she, or one of her friends, sees it then it will be up to her to respond, if she wants to meet you.
If that fails, don't give up, try something else.
