Looking to get a job as a Correctional Officer.

You can get a job, but probably not as a Correctional Officer. In my state, you can't be a Security Guard at the mall unless you have no serious misdemeanors in the last 10 years. That's a state licensing requirement. My company won't hire you if you have any serious misdemeanors.

Not as a corrections officer as requirement are same for law enforcement officer...Might have to wait a few years.

You can try to get a job; most places to background checks and it is legal to eliminate anyone with a criminal history.
A job a correctional officer? Not chance unless is it some podunk Mayberry RFD that doesn't do background checks.
