Shizophrenia is a certain type of psychosis. There are several types of schizophrenia, one of which is "paranoid schizophrenia".

Paranoia, when it reaches pathological levels, can become psychotic feature. Generally speaking, paranoia occurs when a person has an unreasonable, unremitting suspicion/belief that he/she is in danger or is being persecuted in some systematic fashion (usually from other people or groups of people).

paranoia, is where you are very suspicious of everyone...physcosis,..schziophrenic,..is horrible, because the person becomes dilussional, and if it accompanied by paranoia also, it can cause the person to react in a defense mode, and possibly hurt some innocent person, to 'protect' themselves..
