After all, they have the same Ten Commandments, and the Old Testament is made of Jewish scriptures.

Because Paul had a dream which was interepeted as meaning that everything on the earth could be eaten by Man, that all foods were clean.

But Paul is thought to have condemed vegitarians, "the weak man eats only vegetables" (Romans 14:1-2)

Jesus brought certain changes to the old testament laws. The rules of fasting and abstinence are one of the things we Christians follow but in a different way. As a so called spin-off there are differences. The Ten Commandments have never changed. And I really like Kosher Pickles. Matzo balls are good too.

Christians can eat pork and non-kosher food because Paul wrote in Romans 14:14 I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

Jesus said in Luke 7:15 There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man

Christians have Jesus as our savior. Jews not.

10:10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat; while the food was being prepared, he had a vision.
10:11 He saw heaven opened and something coming down that looked like a large sheet being lowered by its four corners to the earth.
10:12 In it were all kinds of animals, reptiles, and wild birds.
10:13 A voice said to him, "Get up, Peter; kill and eat!"
10:14 But Peter said, "Certainly not, Lord! I have never eaten anything ritually unclean or defiled."
10:15 The voice spoke to him again, "Do not consider anything unclean that God has declared clean."
10:16 This happened three times, and then the thing was taken back up into heaven

There are several reasons why. Jesus Himself said that it isn't what we put INTO our bodies that makes us unclean, but what comes out.

And besides, I'm not a Jewish convert. The Mosaic laws were and ARE for Jews. I am a Gentile. Gentiles don't have to follow the Jewish laws.

The only thing I follow is what Jesus endorsed. If He didn't endorse it, I don't have to follow it. He said nothing about kosher, or what a person could or could not eat.

Because Christians misunderstood Jesus's remark concerning Him and The LAWS of Moses. Since Jesus is the God of the Old Testament, He wrote the food laws that were given to Moses and were to be followed for all generations to come including today.

True but then Jesus did say that it was OK to be non Kosher. Mark chapter seven verses six through sixteen.
Mark 7:18 And he sayeth unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it can not defile him:
Read the whole book it's great.
God Bless!

the truth is they shouldn't eat pork, most Christian faiths believe that there under no law and can do whatever their spirit tells them they can do. but pork was considered unclean before the law of moses and the old covenant . Paul told early Christians they were not under the law of moses but Jesus said any Christian practicing lawlessness has no part with him. I believe Christians are no longer under the penalty of the law (eg being put to death) but they still must keep it but not in the Pharisaical sense, some Christian will tell you that Jesus said its not what go's into your mouth but what comes out but that was about eating with dirty hands and peter had a vision that he was served unclean meats but that was about the gentiles were no longer unclean. the dietary laws where health laws designed to keep us healthy ask a dietitian about pork and they will tell you it's barely digestible and has parasites

God did say that it's what comes out of us that makes us unclean. Eating pork doesn't make you unclean but Most Christians don't eat pork simply because it is not healthy. Most of us Christians, because of our diets, live an average of 5 years longer. Ellen G. White has many comments on what is and is not good for us to eat.

Christians believe that Christ clarified the teachings of the Old Testament, not replace it. One of these clarification were on diet restrictions apparently mandated by some verses in the OT.
