If you pay your annual subscriptions it will last forever.
If it came installed on your computer as a trial then 90 days and you have to pay your first subscription and that will keep you going for 12 months.

I would remove it completely and install AVG Free from http://www.free.grisoft.com that updates everyday for free during the life of the product and it does an excelent job.

With new computers, if you don't purchase the actual product as part of your software package, I believe you get a free 30-day trial.

If you actually buy Norton Anti-Virus through the website, the standard subscription is one year. If I remember correctly, they also offer you the opportunity to buy a longer subscription for a discount (like 1/2 off for your second year, or something like that).

Check your computer's documentation, or your software documentation, and you should be able to find out for certain.

If you purchase norton, the subscription is usually for one year. You should be able to set updates to automatic so it gets those updates without your even being aware. Once your subscription runs out, you can still use the antiviurs, however the update feature will no longer be available to you.

It lasts forever, but after a year (if you haven't bought a new license) then they will give you reduced protection, I prefer to use Adaware, or Spy bot, they are free and much better :-)
or use AVG
