Jehovah's Witnesses have the true religion. They are Christian (of course), but they are unique for their rejection of paganisms, use of God's personal name, and global preaching by every active adherent. No other religious organization can claim such purity of worship.

These facts about Jehovah's Witnesses are perhaps relevant to this question. The more one compares this Christian religion with others, the more remarkable it is shown to be.

1. Jehovah's Witnesses have no paid clergy. Yet they remain tightly organized with more than 6.5 million active Jehovah's Witness preachers (about 16 million associate themselves with the religion). Even fulltime preachers and workers at their branch offices are unpaid volunteers.

2. There is no elite class among Jehovah's Witnesses. Even the few 'anointed' among them enjoy no special privileges in their congregations on earth. An anointed person (one of those relative few with a heavenly hope) is not elevated above his fellow congregants in any way, and he may not even qualify for appointment as a simple 'deacon' or elder. There are no titles; EVERYONE is addressed as 'brother' or 'sister'.

3. No person benefits economically from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Even the 8 to 20 men who serve on their Governing Body receive simply room, board, medical care, and reimbursement for certain personal expenses according to the exact same provision as every other branch volunteer.

4. About a hundred men have served on Jehovah's Witnesses' Governing Body committee during the past 125 years or so. The vast majority of them have spent the vast majority of their adult lives volunteering for their organization's purposes, and the vast majority have died faithfully and near-pennilessly while still under their legal 'vow of poverty'.

5. Amazingly, Jehovah's Witnesses did not splinter as a sect from some other religion. Instead, a truly tiny but sincere group of bible students studied only the Scriptures to determine the will of God. Thus their religion remains absolutely independent of and not carrying the sins of Christendom's history, yet carries the authority of Christ's teachings.

6. Despite the distortions of anti-Witnesses, throughout their modern history Jehovah's Witnesses have refused to claim divine inspiration or infallibility for their teachings. They have pointed to the bible (and not any particular translation) as the only inspired infallible means of knowing God's thoughts. For over 125 years, their teachings have been presented as merely the results of sincere bible research by imperfect but godly humans.

They are a loving worldwide brotherhood! I am honored to be counted among them.

Pardon my French.
Êtes-vous l'un des témoins de Jéhovah ?

steven p; As one of Jehovah's Witnesses for nearly 40 years, I know that the question was posed correctly since it referred to Jehovah's Witnesses as a whole, not to an individual. (Note the terminology used in the Watchtower and other publications)

I think that we Witnesses are like everyone else, in that we are imperfect humans, doing what seems like the right thing. We strive to understand the Bible.

I encourage you to seek out JWs for your questions face to face vs here on the internet..... People simply do not know what they are talking about and give you information that is NOT true about what JWs believe. We offer FREE home Bible Studies. We love answering questions and helping people learn what the Bible has to say. We love offering hope to people all over the world, including you of the hope soon to come, through God's Kingdom. You can go to www.watchtower.org and there is a lot of reading material there if you would like to read some there about Gods Promises and the Bible. When you go there you will be able to see you can take YOUR OWN personal copy of the Bible and read the scriptures and see that what we have to say is from the Bible.

Be careful on here with the information you get.The reason is because there are people here who post that used to be Jehovah's Witnesses before that have done some bad things in life or had a bad life and want to take it out on Jehovah God. That is in fact what they are doing because they at one time came to an accurate knowledge of God and decided that they didn't want to live a life according to what he wanted and have turned their back on God. They say horrible things, and most of them are so consumed with hate that they will lie. It is sad that they have turned out this way. (I tell you to be careful, but I am careful also. I am a long standing JW, and everytime I see someone that I think is like this above discribed person I just block them because they never have anything good to say and it helps me to skip over their post easier since I see this red mark by their name) But knowing this I encourage you to go straight to Jehovah's Witness to get your facts before you listen to these people. (again, as I mentioned before, as you can see with YOUR OWN Bible, all of our material is based on Bible principals)

Here is a link that will help you out on our beliefs.

The CORRECT ENGLISH TERMINOLOGY is "What do you think of ONE OF Jehovah's Witnesses " !

I've been one since June 16 of 1974 and it "Was THE BEST Decision of my Life" ! ! !

It's Save My Life MANY TIMES OVER ! ! !

Since you speak Spanish YOU'LL PROBABLY NOTICE that MANY Spanish Bible's use the name JEHOVA; Whereas MANY English Translations TRY 2 KEEP IT OUT ! ! !

Also MANY TRANSLATIONS of other Languages also use SOME FORM of the NAME OF GOD (Jehovah) in their Language (in their Bible)
