If you have already obtained your driving license in India (where the traffic rules are identical to those in UK), it will be quite easy to get your license.
The full details can be had from :
http://www.incnetwork.demon.co.uk/factfile/drivingl.htm
and

Best of Luck.

Possibly.
Do you or have you been given permission to live and work in the UK from immigration and the Home office?
To get a driving licence you need a valid address which you live in at least 6 months of the year.
You can drive here for 12 months on your full indian licence but after that you will need to get a UK provisional licence and sit out our driving tests to get a full UK licence.
Heres what the UK government and DVLA says -

Apply using a form which is supplied by the Post Office.
You wil need a provisional driving licence and will not be able to drive without the supervision of a driver with a full licence until you have passed you theoretical and practical; driving tests

You can use your foreign licence in the UK for 1 year from the date of entry. You then have to apply for a UK one. In order to be allowed to do this, you must have a long stay visa and not a visitors visa e.g you have a Student visa >6 months, IDL or spouse visa.

You should be able to apply for an international drivers licence, however these only last about 6 months to a year.
Otherwise you would need proof that you are able to stay in the UK indefintely to apply for a UK drivers licence.

Yes, it is possible as long as you are living permanently in the UK. You fill in a form & send it off along with some photos & you swap your Indian driving licence for a UK one. There is more information about this at this link: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/DrivingInGbOnAForeignLicence/DG_4022562
I swapped my Spanish one for a UK licence about 2 years ago.
