Negative. Met and partied with some Ghurkas in Hong Kong while on a WestPac (before the Reds took over). Eventually ended up at a apartment that was completely occupied by the Ghurkas and their extended families - absolutely the most crowded in building I've ever seen... Most hospitable and generous folks I met on that float, definitely family men and not gay...

The Gurkas are serving soldiers of the British army and up until 8 years ago it was against Queens Regulations to be or to practice homosexuality.

Many hundreds of soldiers have been casheered out of the British army for flouting this regulation but none have ever been members of any Gurkha regiment.

So, since we should all subscribe to the maxim 'innocent until proven guilty' then we must assume that no Gurkhas have ever been gay. Not that I'm saying there is or should be any guilt attached to being gay but there is to breaking regulations.

Gurkhas are very hospitable, quiet, modest and polite people however this should not be taken as an indication of any kind of effeminate traits, they have proven countless times they make the most ferocious and deadly enemies.

The few Ghurka's I ran into were far from Gay. However, there are of course Gay folks in any group. Bottom line is what difference does it make. I would not want to go up against a Ghurka unit. That is for Damn sure.

I am sure that some were, as in any other section of the population, but obviously not all of them. Why would it matter anyway, I just think you are trying to be provocative.

Hearsay has no basis. Thus, British Ghurkas are real mean unless proven otherwise.
