Well it's a really sad story, we all know of course that Moses never got to see the promised land because he 'snuffed it' just before the tribes all got there.
Now he and his tribe had been searching for this spot for a long long time, then he was 'taken up to heaven'!
Moses was a little bit pis*ed off about this, (to say the least)! H e took his 'stick' with him to heaven and he can sometimes still be seen whacking the sea with it but always in the wrong spot at the wrong time, this of course is the reason for the tidal waves that have been ongoing since he snuffed it. So 'this kind of stuff' is still going on, we just havent worked out why.
I found this story of Moses written on ancient papyrus while I was doing my toilet cleaning job in Egypt , I am still looking for a buyer, the papyrus also has some sort of encrypted message on the other side and the words 'oxo cubes' and 'gravy' appear frequently, but I haven't finished translating that bit yet!!
Hope this helps??

If Moses even existed is an open question. Let's say he did and, whilst there seems to be no historical records of such an incredible event, that he 'separated' the sea, or some body of water. There must be an explaination, yes, and to my mind Wes's answer here is completely plausible. The DeMille H'wood epic was fiction and not remotely believable. As depicted in the OT, Moses was a murderer, a rapist, and something of a genocidal, power mad wacko.

In those days the Holy Spirit had not been poured out on believers, so God used great miracles to show His power and authority over the earth. The Israelites were so privilaged to have this display of might yet they kept falling away and worshipping other 'gods' and breaking their promises, so obviously this sort of thing was not enough to encourage people to follow Him. God does it in a different way now, miracles do still happen but the Holy Spirit and the person of Jesus are the witnesses for God's power these days.

we are to live by faith with the word of God that we can read, where from Paul's time and before was no complete word of God.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Peter II 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
and signs were for Jews only

Corinthians I 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
Corinthians I 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

They just don't make sticks like they used to. Probably a cheap import. Also, the sea level has risen due to global warming and therefore take a bigger smack. Plus the density of the sea has increased due to all the pollution that has seeped into it.
Cedric Robinson walks across the sea and he has a stick. He take hundreds of people across the bay each year.

Nowadays Moses would be on a charge for excessive force.

Not only that he would be in the brown stuff for "Carrying a weapon in a public place".

Finally the Greeneys would be up in arms about his shameful subjugation of saline water droplets to the exclusion of potable water and its comparative sources.

The poor bastar* wouldn't have a chance. If Moses was around now God would have to send him ferry tickets and a company mobile to keep in contact as the art of prayer would be viewed as exclusive and elitist.

Where is the real evidence that it happened in the first place and I'm sorry but the old testament cannot be considered real evidence. It doesn't happen today as such things are physically imposssible and have always been so.

HE did not smacked the sea with his stick he lifted up his staff and the sea separated. He did this on the instruction of God. When we follow God's instruction miracles still happen today.
