say you have got a semi circle, and have calulated where the center of gravity is. i now want to find 3 points where it can be lifted, keeping the semi cirlce flat. how do i find these?

Divide the semicircle into 3 segments of 60°. Lift at the centers of gravity of the sectors.
For each sector Rc = 2Rsin(π/6)/(3π/6) = 2R/π along the bisector of the sector central angle.
With the origin at the center of the semicircle, the polar co-ordinates of the centroids are
2R/π @ 30°
2R/π @ 90°
2R/π @ 150°
Lifting with 1/3 the weight at each of these points will provide uniform lift without tipping. You can also cable from these points to a point directly above the c.g. of the semicircle, but only two of the cables will be the same length. The one from the center sector will necessarily be shorter, but your forces will balance, and you'll have uniform lift.
