i dunno thats a good question..my friend is korean but cuz he grew up in new york and used to be in a gang he feels its ok for him to say it and no one ever seems offended when he does use it. i asked him what being in a gang had to do with the right to use the word and he said thats a common term they use so at least in that situation he wasnt using it to be derrogetory he was using it as a friendship term of endearment almost. he said he has never had anyone be offended by him using that word. maybe its a minority thing? i dont know. i have noticed its alot more acceptable for latino and hispanic people to use it...maybe its all about the WAY it is said..if its not meant to be rude or put someone down then people feel its ok. i wouldnt use it because i dont want to risk offending anyone and i dont think it should be used anyways

Wow, someone who doesn't know how to use the "Check Spelling" feature when asking a question is throwing around the "retard" word? All retards should be HIGHLY offended right now.
Apparently Puerto Ricans think it's okay to use the "N" word in front of black people because the black people they're around are tolerant of its use. If you're not, say so. But seriously, if you're going to be offended by the use of one slur, you should be offended by the use of all of them, "retard" included.

Most puerto ricans have some black bloob in them, so maybe those that use that word consider themselves at least part black.
I am not saying that it is right. I think everyone should stop using it. No one should get a free pass to use it.

Many Puerto Ricans have ethnic heritages that include African or Black. So think of it like a "I can insult my brother but you can't because he's MY brother" type of thing.

I think maybe these PORDERICANS must think that you fit exactly what they think the definition of an N is. Do you even know what that definition is? Boy, you are one stupid woman, and really, really don't think many people are jealous of you at all, that goes beyond stupid.

traditionally, Puerto Ricans are descended from a mixed eu and african american lineage. subsequently, its incredibly no different than one african american calling yet another african american the "N" be conscious.
