It frustrates me when Christians rattle off promises to pray for others and then never do. If we don't pray, and don't truly believe in the power of prayer, hence don't pray for others, we need to go to God with that in all honesty. We can't just ignore it and pretend we're just these "Good Christians" who would simply LOVE to pray for you, and then never do.

Christians, let's admit where we're at with God and ask Him why we don't really want to pray for others! (Not speaking for those of you people who really love to pray for people, to you, God Bless you! ;)

the reason I say they "never do" is because i've heard from people that they say that because they feel obligated. Plus I know so many Christians who never make the time to pray for themselves, let alone others. I feel like the church is increasingly prayer-less.

Whoa! Just HOW do you know who prays for, and doesn't pray for others. Have you set certain time requirements as to what is a proper prayer, or does God actually know what is in your heart, and translates that into a prayer of concern for, or strength for, or patience, or healing.

Please explain what you have determined to be a proper prayer, and who has appointed you the head of the Prayer Police.

I am serious, I'd really like to know what prompted this question as a concerned Christian. I have prayed for you.

You are mistaken on this, I thought so too at one time, but since then I have met countless of people that pray everyday. I am one of them, I always pray especially when I go to bed, for those I have told I would or the ones that need special prayers.

Maybe I shouldn't be the one trying to answer this; but I read a book for a blind man over and over again until the pages fell out and I knew it by heart. Brother Rice from Texas; but If we had more people like him to guide us...we wouldn't be so alone. Stay who you are and all prayers will be with you. God doesn't want us to ask why; just live a good honest life and be happy.

How do you know they don't pray for them? In my experience prayer is rather personal and private. I say it to people all the time and then silently say a quick prayer for them and their intention in case I forget later, but I continue to pray for them quietly until I hear their situation has been resolved.

i'm no longer an Atheist, i'm a Christian, yet i'm no longer part of any denomination. i think of even having a Muslim say they are going to wish for me does not even worry me. A Catholic praying for me does not worry me, a Jewish guy or woman, etc. yet it somewhat is because of the fact I do have faith in one optimum means - a God. If i'm uncertain if somebody is Christian however - I do say something alongside the lines of "you would be in my recommendations." it somewhat is my way of exclaiming i pass to wish for you. i do no longer say i'm going to wish to make you a Christian. i'm going to wish that in spite of is going on on your existence would be touched via my God and that i've got not got faith in forcing, even nudging human beings to have faith in what i've got faith in. do no longer understand if I replied your question in finished because of the fact your advert have been kind of long.

Saying "I'll pray for you" is a politically correct way to say "I will not do anything for you dear....". It's a well known fact that prayers achieves nothing so why waste time pretending anyway ?

How do you know they don't?

Do they send you an "I'm sorry I didn't actually pray for you." card?

I think you are being a bit assumptive.

That is unless you find yourself doing it, in which case I would say you should follow through.

Ill pray for you. =P

"Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward."
