Seriously, it gets on my nerves. Not all of us Christians are "judgemental, close minded people". I'm not. I want to hear what other people believe and think. I'm NOT here to tell you "you're going to hell" or "you're wrong". All I want to do is share what I believe as well. It's nothing against everyone else but I'm starting to wonder if they are the ones that are "close-minded" because it seems anyone who even alludes to Christianity or creation gets a million thumbs down. It's not right. Share your thoughts....

And please don't be rude...I'm just trying to learn here.

It bothers me because I'd like to believe that my fellow people are more accepting than that....they would want acceptance for themselves, right?

Can you post one of the questions here where that happened?
Without seeing an actual example, I couldn't really tell you why. Sometimes I notice really long answers get a lot of thumbs down. I usually only use the thumbs down only if people are rude or answer in a way that is not helpful.
So, if anyone asks a specific question about a particular religion and someone else answers that religion is useless, they're getting thumbs down from me. It doesn't matter what religion was asked about or what religion the answerer pushed- it's an automatic thumbs down.

I find a lot of christians answer every question with a passage from the bible - and a lot of the time it's kind of irrelevent. Not everyone thinks that everything can be resolved with biblical quotations.

Having said that I don't tend to thumbs down most people. I've wondered about the whole thumbs down, thumbs up thing as well. I tend to give thumbs up to questions that I think are good responses, whether or not I agree with what they say, and thumbs down to what I consider to be stupid or irrelevant responses. Everyone's different I suppose.

I constantly get thumbs down for my comments. But then I'm not a Christian, even though I usually support Christians right to believe as they do. I never give anyone a thumbs down for expressing their belief. Only when someone is rude to people or tell others they are damned or don't have the right to believe as they want to do I think about making a thumbs down at them. And even then I usually don't.

The world is afraid of anything which asks them them to change and think past ones self. Today's society relishes their self-centered, materialist lives...and why not it feels great...most of the time.

Therefore anything or anyone who might ask them to conceive a thought which paints their life style in an unfavorable manner elicits rage. Society perverted the "American Dream" when they realized it was a sham...when they realized the thing they wanted most was unattainable. Hedonism is the new "American Dream" and there is no room..no tolerance for anything which may put it in jeopardy...not even a though or an idea...let alone religion.

Ok sometimes that happens. but for the most we are here enjoying the conversation and if we can we try to help. We will get the disagreements from others views. Sometimes we all can get mean. I don't think thats our intentions You raised a good comment we do need to be more careful, of how we put our words together.
I apologize for the remarks. A small reminder of who our words are being spoken for.

I'll tell you why. Atheists(without God) are posting in a forum titled religion and spirituality. They all get off on trying to show off their superiority complex in a forum not intended for them. I once had a posting telling all atheists to mark me as spam or thumbs down only because I won the argument. Atheists will pose as christians, they will stop at nothing to try and belittle you. I have yet to enter and post uninvitededly on any atheistic websites or forums. It really shows their charachter.

If you're going to answer questions based on fairy stories, untruths, contradictions and deceits then you deserve a thumbs down. Your god doesn't exist. You're religion is a cynically manipulated tool of social control. You have, and can never have any evidence that supports the existence of your deity or the truth of the bible. Religion defies reason, logic and all rational thought.

How could one respond rationally with ought but a thumbs down? You may believe, but that only means you're deluded.

Because my dear, many of the Christians here tend to come off as extremely dense, or paste a bunch of scripture as an answer instead of actually putting thought behind it.
