When I worked for a large financial company in recruiting: we would pull one copy of the credit and make a copy of it for file. That way there was only one inquiry but whom ever needed to look at it could.

It will depend on the position you are being considered for. If the position requires it, both the HR people and the person doing the actual hiring may need to look at it.

They shouldn't need to show it to the person hiring you but they might if they feel a need.
