the dog from Rob and Big is an english bulldog. That type of dog is usually pretty laid back, but there's always the chance of getting a hyper one. Being well behaved has nothing to do with a breed, it's all about training.

A Pitbull is a type of bull dog, and I have been around pitbull's that were very sweet dogs, it's all in how you raise the dog, if you raise them in a loving and caring manner then they will turn out to be great pets. I love bull dogs, my parents raise English and French bulldogs and have friends who raise Pitbulls, my personal pet is a french bulldog and he is definitely one of the best dogs I've ever had, they look a lot like English but are smaller and not as bulky and they have less health problems....English Bulldogs will have a lot of health problems, they have very narrow nostrils and therefore have a lot of trouble with breathing, they are also quite prone to cataracts, French bulldogs can also have the breathing problem, and tend to be a little more hyper than the english bulldogs. Now I have to warn you that while you may be able to find a Pitbull fairly cheap, you will not be so lucky with the French and English bulldogs, you would be extremely lucky to find one for under a 1000 dollars and if you do it is either because the dog is bad quality or because the owner doesn't really know what they have...as far as behavior goes, it really depends on the dog, but my french bulldog is very well behaved, but he's stubborn he will only listen to me which is common, but he is very well housebroken and it was pretty easy to get him that way, but he is also very possessive over me he doesn't like other animals to be around me and will sometimes fight them because he's just so protective over me, of course they are not all like him, actually most aren't like him at all, most of the other ones we have are very sweet tempered and would never hurt anything...and he has never and would never hurt a human he's just doesn't like other animals, anyway it really depends on the individual dog you buy...there are pros and cons to both so you will just have to decide which breed works best for you.

The dog on that show is a bulldog. Pitbulls and bulldogs are two totally different types of dogs. I would rather have a bulldog. They can be very expensive though,b/c most litters are born through a c-section b/c of their large heads. Pitbulls are usually the types of dogs they use for dog fighting. There are some nice pitbulls , but there are some that were bred for aggression and fighting.

Any dog no matter the breed can be a great and nice dog, what you may need is training, Yes you.. both you and your dog need to be trained together. Because, I hear the stories all the time, of "when my dog snaps, I tap his nose and yell NO!" Well... NO, you are wrong, because what you just did was taught aggression, and many pet owners don't even know it, but they teach the aggression, that thier dog exudes, by the simplest training techniques. I have met both the sweetest pittbulls and English bulldogs in the world! All becuase they had great owners, and training... it all about the training.. (no pnnies in the can, no rolled up news papers, no yanking hard on the leashes, no tapping on the nose, no RUBBING THIER NOSE IN IT!!!!)
Today, I was showing a house in a neighborhood I show houses in quite often, and the American Bull dog, must just know my minivan, because, I am not kidding you, every time I pull into this neighborhood, he comes running to romp wnad wrestle with me... which I happily do so... I am madly in-love with this dog!! I call him Bruitus, even though I do not know his name... But as far as I know, and from the neighbors, they all play with him, he is welcome with them all, (mind you this is a private gated community) See... its all how they are raised...
Make sure, you are ready for puppy kindergarten!!

Both pit bulls and bulldogs are very nice, personality-wise. English bulldogs tend to have a lot of health issues and are expensive to own most of the time. You should look into an American Bulldog, it's kind of in-between the two.

any breed (whether it is a GSD, a pitbull, a bulldog, a doberma, chihuahua, whatever) is capable of being a great dog, its usally having to do with the training and the socialization from being a puppy.
its an english bulldog, btw.
but don't buy a dog just because a celebrity has it and you think its cool. its a responsiblitiy, not a fad toy you can throw away afterwards. (i'm just saying, hopefully you're not like that)

Both breeds you mentioned are VERY hard headed and strong willed. As long as you know how to socialize properly and know how to train them well enough so that you can establish yourself as being the leader of the pack. They both make wonderful pets. If it were me I'd choose the pit bull. They have goofier personality's making them a laugh a minute. And they have less health problems. But another breed that is by far my favorite that looks similar to the Pit bull and more massive is an American Bulldog. They are not reconized by the AKC. They look like a mix between a pitbull and a boxer, only twice the size. I had one for 15 years and he was the best dog i ever had. I adopted him from the pound at the age of 8 months. He was a 90 lb teddy bear. He had the goofiest personality. Highly intelligent and almost human. I could do anything to that dog and he would never react. He loved kids and was always very gentle. And he loved other dogs. His best friend at doggy day care was a 3 lb yorkshire terrier.

I have a pitbull, let me tell you they will keep you running, they are very active dogs and they chew on everything. dont get me wrong i love my spike but he keeps me going! yes pits do have a bad rep for all the wrong reasons and it takes alot to raise them but the reward is so wanderful. I have been told that the brindle breeds are the hardest well spike is a brindle breed and he has been great, a bit on the rammy side always playing with everything, but a very fast learner and smart as a whip. I believe the dog in question is a bull dog, not a pit. i only saw the show a couple of times with my son.

most owners will say 'o yeah he wont bite hes real friendly' but sometimes they are not so friendly. of course u would say 'o my dog is nice' if u were the owner. i would say if u want to have a pitbull or bulldog that is good with children and nice to new people, buy him as a baby and raise him yourself. then u know he has been raised well.
hope this helps!
